Talking CCTV Cameras
Apex Radio Systems Ltd has designed a unique and very cost effective “TALKING CCTV CAMERA” system which can be installed with ease on existing CCTV Cameras deployed anywhere throughout the U.K. In line with the ongoing battle of tackling Anti Social Behaviour, Apex has been working alongside councils in the twenty pilot areas to develop a complete cost effective solution.

General Overview
Many CCTV control rooms are a focus hub point for both CCTV Camera operations and a Radio control point for the monitoring of Shop Watch and Pub Watch style radio schemes.
CCTV Central Monitoring Control rooms control these systems, which may be several miles from the locations of the Cities and Towns where the actual cameras and radios are located.
How does it Work? And How can it be used on existing CCTV systems?
Operation
Central CCTV Control monitoring rooms are connected to the two-way radio schemes in the Towns by radio links to allow two way speech communications to Police and Security staff and Retailers.
Installation
The Apex “Talking CCTV Camera” equipment is fitted to the individual camera poles and consists of a Waterproof High wattage Horn Loudspeaker, Small Antenna, Cables, Radio Receiver / Transmitter with Power Supply Unit. Each radio unit is uniquely coded.
CCTV Control Room Equipment
In radio systems where Apex have radio equipment installed at CCTV, no other equipment is required.
Otherwise a small screen based radio base unit is installed and programmed with “Talking CCTV Camera” Codes.
Simple Operation
When required the control operator makes the uniquely numbered “Talking CCTV Camera” live by selecting its code, and pressing the go live button.
The “Talking CCTV Camera” signals a confirmation e.g. “Cam 51 Live” back to the control room and speech can then be passed over that particular “Talking CCTV Camera” from the control operator.
When finished the control operator closes the “Talking CCTV Camera” by selecting its close code.
Benefits
Simple to use, very cost effective, no wires are required as all information is sent over the radio. Installation at CCTV control room is easy as no connections are required to the fibre optics controlling the cameras. The Apex “Talking CCTV Camera” units can be installed anywhere providing there is a radio scheme in the City or Town and is connected to CCTV control room via a radio link.
