For many years, Apex Radio Systems have helped provide radio equipment to a few members of professional hunts. With written permission, we are happy to code your current equipment to the frequencies provided to whichever hunt you are looking to take part in.

To get the best possible coverage, especially for outdoors, we would always suggest VHF Licenced Radios as the frequencies and coverage is better suited.
They emit longer radio waves, which means they are able cover a greater distance. VHF radios usually work best in direct line of sight or within an area with very little obstruction.
When looking for two-way radios to be used for hunting or outdoors, you will more than likely find the below features benefit you:
Range
If you plan to use the equipment in thick woods, the range is very important. Obstructions can cause the signal to weaken and cause dead spots when using low level radios. Higher level radios can deliver a mile or more of range.
Accessories
When using radios outdoors, it can be difficult to hear the transmissions coming from your radio. Most radios allow the use of accessories and we would highly recommend them to avoid anything communication being missed.
Battery Life
Because power outlets will not be readily available, your radio will need to have a decent battery life. There are radios that allow you to charge them within your car if urgently required. If you are unable to charge them that way, some can operate on AA or AAA batteries.
IP Rating
Because the weather can be completely unpredictable, having a radio that can withstand all weather is a must! We would recommend you look at a fully waterproof radio, especially if they are being used anywhere near water.
