Since 1992, we have called Newcastle home. 2023 now brings a new and exciting chapter to our history as Apex Radio HQ moves to Gateshead.
Bringing the team under one roof and into an open-plan office workspace, our new HQ will bring additional space to our ever-growing team. With two storeys, warehousing, workshops, additional meeting rooms, a breakout space, EV charging bays, natural light and views overlooking the river Tyne, we look forward to this next stage on our development and to taking our amazing customers, friends, family, suppliers, and business partners with us.
Apex Radio Systems has come a long way in the 33 years since, Jim Curry, with his wife Hilary, formed the company following a prosperous career at Motorola. After a couple of years of growing the hiring aspect of the business, our small team found a home at Tantobie Road, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Since then, we have been awarded the ‘Recognition of Outstanding Service Award’ from Icom UK and the ‘UK’s Best Business Partner Award’ from Hytera. We have celebrated business partnerships with Syndico, as their first-ever customer back in 2015, and been recognised for our ongoing commitment and service with the Motorola Solutions Platinum Status.
We’ve also opened additional premises in Cardiff and Teesside and launched our own Apex range of DMR radios.
We’ve seen love and loss as sadly Hilary lost her battle with cancer in 2018 – but as a company, we came together in a time of need and grief.
Through the hardships, the highs, lows, and successes, we understand the importance of taking care of one another, and we take the time to appreciate and recognise each team member. We are Team Apex, and we are your communication experts.
