Our Sustainability Promises

Our commitment to sustainability starts right here. Apex Radio Systems is committed to the 17 sustainable development goals created by the United Nations. Our aim at Apex is to continue to create positive change and contribute towards a more sustainable future.

REMOTE WORKING

Implementing a remote working option for staff has helped better staff mental health, provide additional flexibility with childcare, and improve a better work-life balance, also reducing carbon footprint from reducing the commute to the office.

ECO FRIENDLY OFFICE

We take environmental sustainability seriously and have significantly reduced our carbon footprint. In 2023, Apex HQ moved from split offices in Newcastle to a larger, open plan office space in Gateshead. The newer office space reduced the carbon footprint and requirements to heat two offices. With staff having hybrid and electric vehicles we also have multiple EV charging stations to further reduce the carbon footprint. By working closely with the council, we have been able to increase our WEEE recycling. Moreover, we have incorporated some easy-to-implement quick wins, such as energy-saving measures like turning off electronics, automatic sensor lights and using eco-friendly office supplies.

PARTNERING WITH LOCAL INITIATIVES

Apex Radio Systems is proudly supporting local initiatives. We regularly provide free rental equipment to local cancer charities to help the day-to-day operations; as well as UK-wide fundraising such as Comic Relief and Children in Need. In addition to this, we have a strong relationship with local apprenticeship companies and employ apprentices to provide future career development and opportunities.

Quality Assurance – ISO9001:2015

Safety is essential to us at Apex, and our clients depend on us to deliver reliable communications every time. Because of our commitment and care to our customers, we provide technical support, rapid response repairs and top-quality service, which is accredited by our European ISO 9001:2015 quality standard and have been accredited since 1995. We maintain this through our annual external audits and our regular internal reviews.

Health and Safety

Our health and safety team are fully trained and meet regularly to discuss how we intend to protect the health and safety at work of our employees and anyone else who might be affected by our work activities. Our Health and Safety Policy and Arrangements reflect our Commitment to the provision of a safe working environment. They also meet a requirement to identify the duties and responsibilities of employees with responsibilities for managing health and safety in our workplace.
